In celebration of the 60th anniversary of its dive watches in 2025, Seiko invited its customers to select their favourite design for a new Prospex Automatic timepiece.
The voting results are now in, revealing that the standout design is a vibrant blue three-hander, adorned with a textured dial reminiscent of ocean waves.
While Seiko has opted not to disclose the detailed breakdown of the votes, it appears unlikely that other suggested colours—green, red, or yellow, each inspired by the dynamic hues of the sea throughout the day—received significant support. The winning shade, dubbed “Daytime Blue” by Seiko, likely enjoyed overwhelming popularity.
This new iteration of the Prospex is a modern interpretation of the original 1965 Seiko automatic dive watch. Enhancements include an upgrade in water resistance from 150 metres to 300 metres, and it is powered by the contemporary Caliber 6R55 automatic movement, offering a three-day power reserve.
The watch features a steel case measuring 40mm in diameter and 13mm in height, complemented by a three-row steel bracelet for added comfort and style.
Production is limited to 4,500 units globally, with each timepiece bearing a distinct limited edition number etched on the back. The watch is set to be available for purchase in October, with a retail price of $1,400.
