Girard-Perregaux has announced a new collaboration with the Williams Formula 1 team, unveiling a sophisticated three-hand automatic Laureato and an impressive chronograph. These timepieces are highlighted by a striking electric blue, mirroring the colour scheme of the British racing team’s livery, and feature the Williams logo prominently displayed above the 12 o’clock marker.
With a legacy spanning more than 235 years in the art of watchmaking, Girard-Perregaux aligns itself with the storied history of Williams, which has been a stalwart presence in Formula 1 for fifty years. Both brands express that their joint venture has led to the creation of two distinct timepieces that mark the beginning of a fruitful collaboration.
“Together we have merged our extensive knowledge to produce watches that signify a long-term alliance,” the joint statement from the brands reads.
Marc Michel-Amadry, Girard-Perregaux’s managing director, explained that their partnership stems from shared philosophies. “Our companies adhere to a purist approach within our respective industries,” he shared with WatchPro. “It’s fundamentally about mutual learning and inspiration. Williams’ respect for its legacy and its narrative presentation is remarkable. Their honesty and authenticity resonate with us, which is why we feel a strong connection.”
The Laureato from Girard-Perregaux debuted shortly before the establishment of the current Williams Racing team, which emerged in 1977, following the earlier Frank Williams Racing Cars that had its first race in 1969.
This week, the brand launched the Laureato Williams Edition and the Laureato Chronograph Williams Edition, both sized at 42mm, crafted from steel. Their dials, featuring blue Clous de Paris patterns with vibrant red details, draw inspiration from the forthcoming Williams FW48 car set for the 2026 season.
Each watch is powered by in-house movements—the GP1800, featuring a date function for the automatic version, and the GP3300 for the chronograph. These movements are adorned with exquisite finishing techniques such as Côtes de Genève stripes, circular graining, and mirror polishing, all showcased through crystal case backs that display the Williams F1 logo.
Michel-Amadry emphasized that the Laureato philosophy transcends mere sports watch categorization. “This is a timepiece embodying our maison’s iconic design and values,” he clarified.
The Laureato Chronograph is priced at £16,500, while the automatic version comes in at £12,800. Shipping for these exquisite timepieces is set to commence on October 19th.
