Full Story
Christopher Ward’s expansion into the American watch market is thriving, reflecting a commitment to customer engagement despite its origins as an online-only retailer.
In recent years, the brand has adapted its business strategy by launching four showrooms across the United States, complemented by three locations in the UK. This shift has facilitated direct interaction with clients, including collaborations with collector clubs in its primary markets.
A notable partnership occurred with the MIA Watch Club in Florida, where Christopher Ward created a limited edition of the C1 Bel Canto watch. Only 35 units were produced, featuring a pink-to-blue graduated dial that draws inspiration from the vibrant aesthetics of Miami’s South Beach area. Initially priced at $4,725 when paired with a steel bracelet, demand was high, leading to nearly all pieces being sold to club members.
One specific timepiece, however, was set aside for a charity auction, which took place this week in support of The WOW Center—a Miami-based organisation serving adults with developmental disabilities—and The Alliance for Florida’s National Parks, which focuses on conservation efforts. This exclusive watch, numbered 17 of the 35 made, fetched an impressive $12,500, setting a new record for auction prices from the brand. The only higher sale was a unique creation that had previously sold for $18,000 in December 2025, crafted in partnership with influencer Andrew Morgan and artist seconde/seconde.
“The $12,500 hammer price blew us away, but what matters most is what that number is going to do for two organisations that mean a great deal to our community,” remarked Carlos “CJ” Jimenez, co-founder of the MIA Watch Club. He added, “This watch was our first collaboration and will always be an important part of the club’s story. Seeing collectors push it to a record price while supporting two incredible charitable causes was a magnificent way to close that chapter.”
Looking ahead, the MIA Watch Club is also organising the watch segment of Time to Drive Fest, a gathering for automotive and watch enthusiasts scheduled for November 6 to 8 at the Mana Wynwood Convention Center in Miami. Online tickets for the event are available.
On the same day, WatchPro will conduct a ‘Women in Watches’ event at TimeLuxe’s newly opened showroom in downtown Miami. This morning conference aims to foster networking opportunities for women excelling in the watch industry, encouraging discussions on their experiences and career progression.
Attendees will include industry leaders from retail, manufacturing, and media. The event will commence with a breakfast networking session, followed by insightful panel discussions intended to deepen understanding of the women’s journeys in the field. Tickets for the Women in Watches Miami event can be purchased for $50 online.
