Certificates recognising laboratory standards and RJC membership were awarded by the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT) during a ceremony held at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok on September 16, 2025, in conjunction with the 8th International Gem and Jewelry Conference (GIT 2025).
The event featured Mr. Sumed Prasongpongchai, GIT’s Director, who presented GIT Standard Laboratory Registration Certificates and acknowledged entrepreneurs participating in the SME Promotion and Upgrade Programme, aimed at adhering to Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) standards. This initiative underscores GIT’s dedication to fostering ethical governance and social responsibility within the gem and jewellery supply chain.
Mr. Sumed expressed his congratulations to the entrepreneurs involved in the RJC programme and highlighted the vital role that international standards play in elevating Thailand’s gem and jewellery sector to a global context. He noted that the RJC initiative is crucial for establishing trust with international buyers and consumers, who now place greater emphasis on transparency and accountability in the jewellery industry.
