A recent analysis by Bitcoinionaire has revealed that luxury watches are among the most accessible high-end products available for purchase using Bitcoin. The study highlights that nine percent of luxury goods and services companies in their index accept cryptocurrency as a method of payment for luxury timepieces.

Most of the retailers that accept cryptocurrencies are based in the secondary market; however, notable exceptions include established firms like Watches of Switzerland, TAG Heuer, and Hublot, which offer Bitcoin and Ethereum transactions at select locations.

Several secondary market retailers listed in the report include BitDials from Geneva, Chronext in Zurich, and several prominent US-based companies such as WatchBox (The 1916 Company), Crown & Caliber, TPT Timepiece Trading, and Bob’s Watches. Moreover, Gibraltar-based Ben Watches also participates in this emerging payment model, along with Gray & Sons Jewelers operating out of London and Marbella.

The decision to welcome cryptocurrency payments represents a significant opportunity for watch retailers aiming to attract affluent crypto holders. The Henley & Partners Crypto Wealth Report for 2025 indicates that there are now 241,700 individuals holding cryptocurrency assets valued at over $1 million—a 40% increase in just one year, within a total digital asset market of approximately $3.3 trillion.

Among these wealthy individuals, 145,100 are identified as Bitcoin millionaires, reflecting a 70% rise in this category compared to the previous year. Interestingly, around 450 individuals have amassed nine-figure crypto portfolios, with 36 individuals reaching billionaire status based solely on their digital assets.

The allure of using cryptocurrencies to purchase high-end watches stems from their associated security and privacy features. The watch industry, being an early adopter of cryptocurrency transactions, has developed an established infrastructure for facilitating such purchases, which is more advanced than many other luxury sectors.

In addition to retailers, major auction houses like Phillips, Christie’s, and Sotheby’s have also embraced this trend by enabling cryptocurrency payments, further solidifying the watch sector’s leadership in the crypto-luxury economy transition.
