De Beers Group has made notable strides in its sustainability initiatives, with advancements in carbon emissions reduction, enhanced conservation measures, and the growth of its diamond traceability platform.
In its latest Sustainability Report, the company highlighted progress under its Building Forever framework, which focuses on four key areas: livelihoods, nature, climate, and provenance. The Tracr traceability platform, which records the journey of diamonds from mine to market, surpassed five million registrations in 2025. Additionally, De Beers announced a collaboration with diamond technology company Sarine to integrate rough diamond source registrations with scanning data, further improving transparency in the diamond industry.
The company also revealed that it had trained an additional 500 women through its EntrepreneHER programme this year, raising the total number trained since the programme’s inception in 2016 to more than 3,900.
Furthermore, De Beers has pledged 1 billion Botswana pula, equivalent to approximately £55.3 million, to the Diamonds for Development Fund. This investment aims to bolster economic diversification efforts in Botswana.
Looking ahead, De Beers outlined ongoing commitments as part of its Building Forever strategy, which includes targets to reduce emissions, enhance the use of renewable energy, and broaden the scope of its traceability platform.
