The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) is set to host the 45th Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair alongside the 14th Salon de TIME from 1-5 September. This prominent event will gather a diverse array of international watch brands, independent creators, and suppliers, highlighting its position as one of the premier trade occasions in the industry.
The dual fairs are organised in collaboration with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Ltd, and The Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries Ltd. They will utilise the EXHIBITION+ hybrid approach, merging in-person showcases with the Click2Match online business matching tool, which will be operational from 25 August to 12 September.
This year’s exhibition is themed “Sparkling Moments Through Time” and will present a wide range of products, including Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) offerings, luxury timepieces, niche brands, limited editions, and advancements in wearable technology.
Notable features of the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair include specially designated areas showcasing complete watches, clocks, components, machinery, packaging solutions, and trade services. Additionally, a special exhibition titled “Pageant of Eternity” will highlight OEM and ODM timepieces.
Salon de TIME will present an array of brands organised into six distinct zones: the World Brand Piazza, Craft Treasure, Microbrands, Renaissance Moment, Chic & Trendy, and Wearable Technology.
Featured brands at this year’s events include CIGA Design, Memorigin, Seagull, Shanghai, and Pierre Lannier, among others. The Swiss Independent Watchmaking Pavilion and Francéclat will also promote several independent labels such as Briston, Herbelin, and LIP.
A standout product this year is the world’s first smartwatch equipped with medical-grade Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) technology, integrated with a Traditional Chinese Medicine framework, which will be on display in the Wearable Tech zone from Watch2Care and Link2Care.
The organiser has planned a series of engaging activities alongside the exhibitions, including watch parades, networking opportunities, buyer forums, and industry conferences.
On 1 September, the Hong Kong International Watch Forum will convene industry representatives from around the globe to deliberate on trade performance, market dynamics, and the intersection of traditional watchmaking with artificial intelligence and smart technologies.
The following day, the Asian Watch Conference will explore opportunities arising from the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the Greater Bay Area of China, as well as trends in e-commerce and the prospects for the regional watch market.
Additionally, the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition will take place, with awards announced during the fair. Entries this year are judged on themes titled “Contours of the Breeze” for students and “Transcending Time” for the open category, with shortlisted designs showcased throughout the event.
The competition will also feature the Made-to-Sell Award that honours the student design deemed to possess the greatest commercial viability.
