Full Story
Swiss watchmaker Mauron Musy has bolstered its operational capacity and enhanced its presence in the crucial American market through a significant investment and a partnership with FundTime LLC, a US investment and distribution specialist focused on elevating independent watch brands.
As part of this arrangement, FundTime will serve as the exclusive distributor for Mauron Musy in the United States.
Christophe Musy, co-founder of Mauron Musy, remarked, “At Mauron Musy, challenging industry conventions is part of our DNA.” He elaborated, “Our no‑gasket innovation represents a human spirit that refuses to accept limits. Partnering with FundTime allows us to bring that spirit to life for new collectors and audiences in the United States. Their passion for independent watchmaking and relationship‑driven approach make them the ideal partner for our next chapter.”
Lior Arussy, the founder and managing partner at FundTime LLC, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with innovative brands. He noted, “Mauron Musy stood out from many opportunities because it embodies both Swiss precision and visionary courage. We’re honoured to help this remarkable brand reach the appreciation it deserves among US collectors.”
Established in 2013 by Christophe Musy and Eric Mauron, Mauron Musy has established itself as a producer of approximately 300 watches annually. Their flagship collections, including the Armure and GMT Sport, are positioned in the market around $15,000, with more exclusive models reaching prices above $30,000.
A hallmark of Mauron Musy’s innovation is its patented no-Ring gasket-free water resistance technology, which enables their cases to withstand depths of up to 300 metres. The company prides itself on sourcing all expertise and manufacturing components within a 60-kilometre radius of its facility in the Jura Valley, near Saint-Aubin.
**Significant Developments**
One of the brand’s key achievements is the successful patent and industrialisation of the nO-Ring system, a complex task given the precision required. This advancement marked a transition for Mauron Musy from a conceptual brand to a legitimate manufacturer.
The launch of the Armure Collection in 2015 showcased the nO-Ring technology, merging robust aesthetics with exceptional water resistance and mechanical integrity. The company also prioritises in-house movement development, having introduced proprietary calibres such as the MM01, reinforcing its ambition to be recognised as a true watch manufacture rather than a mere assembler.
Additionally, many of Mauron Musy’s timepieces have received certification from the official Swiss chronometer testing institute (COSC), affirming their status in high-performance watchmaking. The brand’s efforts towards customisation and modular design reflect a growing trend in the independent watch sector, allowing for extensive personalisation options for customers.
