Breitling has introduced a new collection tailored for women, dubbed the Lady Premier. This line draws inspiration from the brand’s 1940s Premier Fantaisies models, blending elegant forms, shimmering diamonds, and vibrant colours.
The original Premier line was launched by Willy Breitling in the 1940s, transforming the chronograph from a precision tool into a stylish accessory. His wife, Beatrice, played a pivotal role in influencing the design of some of the earliest women’s watches, a legacy that Breitling is keen to honour with the new Lady Premier collection, which infuses classic elegance with modern elements.
Importantly, this collection moves beyond simply modifying masculine designs for a female audience, a common trend in watchmaking history. Instead, it aims to create timepieces that resonate with women’s identities and preferences.
George Kern, the CEO of Breitling, stated that the collection embodies qualities of “confidence, femininity, and character, just like the woman who wears it.” The Lady Premier is available in seven different models, offered in two sizes: the Lady Premier Automatic 36 and the Lady Premier SuperQuartz™ 32.
The Automatic model, measuring 36mm, is equipped with the COSC-certified Breitling Calibre 10, boasting a power reserve of 42 hours. It comes in options of stainless steel or 18k gold, with straps in shades of aubergine, sage, dove grey, and chocolate, alongside optional diamond-set bezels.
On the other hand, the 32mm SuperQuartz™ variants feature dials in mother-of-pearl, Ink Blue, or Midnight Black, complemented by a distinctive seven-row Chevron bracelet. Each of these models is powered by the COSC-certified Calibre 77, guaranteeing outstanding precision and reliability.
Notable design elements across the collection include smooth dials, understated numerals, lozenge-shaped hands, and sophisticated diamond detailing, merging the aesthetics of both jewellery and timekeeping.
In line with its commitment to sustainability, Breitling has ensured that each piece in the Lady Premier collection is crafted from responsibly sourced gold and incorporates traceable lab-grown diamonds.
The collection is priced between GBP 3,900 and 13,300, varying according to specific configurations. For more details, visit breitling.com.
