Nomadic Watches is set to enhance its presence in Ireland with the debut of its first standalone store in Dublin this November, in collaboration with the renowned Irish jeweller, Weir & Sons.
The new boutique will be located at 6 Castle Market Street, nestled within Dublin’s bustling retail area and in close proximity to the popular Grafton Street.
This expansion is a pivotal point in Nomadic’s goal to position itself as a prestigious Irish watch brand. The company, which operates from Belfast, prides itself on crafting watches that are designed and assembled by hand in its home city, which are then shipped to over 50 countries worldwide.
The forthcoming Dublin store follows the opening of Nomadic’s flagship location and workshop near Belfast City Hall in July 2025. This facility was tailored to provide customers with an intimate experience of the watchmaking process, featuring watchmakers working behind glass screens for public viewing.
In its initial year, the Belfast boutique reportedly generated over 30% of Nomadic’s total revenues, attracting clientele from Ireland, the UK, Europe, and even the United States. Many international guests have travelled specifically to Belfast to engage with the team and observe the craftsmanship involved firsthand.
Recognizing the burgeoning significance of Dublin as a market, Nomadic initially gauged interest through a temporary Christmas pop-up hosted by Weir & Sons in December 2025. Following a successful reception, Weir & Sons began carrying Nomadic watches at its iconic Grafton Street location in 2026.
The encouraging demand observed in Dublin has prompted the decision to establish a permanent store in the Irish capital.
Peter McAuley, the founder and managing director of Nomadic Watches, remarked, “Opening in Dublin feels like a natural and important next step for Nomadic. We founded the business with the ambition of putting Ireland on the watchmaking map, and establishing a permanent presence in the heart of the capital brings us closer to fulfilling that mission.”
He recalled, “When Chris and Lucinda Andrews first gave a relatively unknown Belfast watch brand space in the window of Weir & Sons on Grafton Street last Christmas, they took a chance on us. The reception from the people of Dublin was incredibly warm, and I think the sales surprised all of us. There were watches we simply couldn’t keep in stock.”
With the upcoming launch, McAuley expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, stating, “Less than 12 months later, we’re opening a standalone store together and giving Nomadic a proper home in Dublin.”
Established in 2021, Nomadic draws its name from the SS Nomadic, the last surviving ship of the historic White Star Line. The brand’s design philosophy reflects Belfast’s rich shipbuilding history, its ambitious engineering achievements, and a sense of adventure.
Their collection focuses on modern, accessible tool watches crafted for durability and everyday functionality. The opening of the Dublin store will not only bolster Nomadic’s retail presence in Ireland but also enhance its direct engagement with customers as it seeks to expand its international reach.
