Abbott Lyon has announced a collaboration with the charity Tommy’s, pledging to generate at least £50,000 aimed at enhancing research and providing services for families impacted by pregnancy and baby loss.

This partnership will span the entire year, featuring various collections and initiatives designed to share personal experiences from the company’s founders, creators, advocates, and the broader community. These efforts will focus on diverse narratives surrounding pregnancy and parenthood.

According to Tommy’s, the fundraising goal could facilitate an entire year of miscarriage research or fund the position of a Tommy’s Research Midwife for a year. The inaugural collection is set to debut in October in alignment with Baby Loss Awareness Week. The collection will include jewellery specially crafted for both men and women, celebrating various aspects of parenthood such as pregnancy, baby loss, fresh beginnings, and key milestones.

For Asha Jones, co-founder of Abbott Lyon, this initiative holds personal significance. Both she and co-founder Jezz Skelton faced the heartbreak of pregnancy loss and sought guidance from Tommy’s during their difficult journey. Jones recounted, “At a routine pregnancy scan, we heard the words no parent expects: We think there might be something wrong with your baby. I turned to Tommy’s to help me make sense of it all, and their information meant I felt more prepared when we returned to speak to the consultant. It was during that appointment that we found out our baby’s heart had stopped beating.”

She continued, “I was faced with decisions I never imagined I would have to make, and once again Tommy’s support helped me understand my options and became something I returned to many times as I tried to navigate our loss. That is why this partnership means so much to me. My hope is that by speaking openly and supporting Tommy’s, we can help more people feel less alone.”

Jones emphasized the importance of sharing stories, stating, “Every journey into parenthood can look different, and every story deserves to be heard. Our story is one of many, and together we hope it encourages more open conversations, raises awareness and helps more families feel seen and supported.”

Sarah House, head of corporate partnerships at Tommy’s, highlighted the diverse experiences associated with pregnancy and the significance of Abbott Lyon’s support. “Every pregnancy journey is different and our partnership with Abbott Lyon will mirror the experiences we know many families face, supporting them to carry, celebrate and remember the moments that matter most.”

House noted the value of recognition throughout these transitions: “Whether families are celebrating a healthy pregnancy, navigating uncertainty, marking a milestone or remembering a baby they love, meaningful acts of recognition can make a lasting difference. Through this partnership, we hope to help more people feel seen, supported and connected throughout their journey.”
