Retail jeweller Loupe, part of the Beaverbrooks Group, is set to expand its presence by transforming a showroom in Sheffield, previously owned by R.L. Brown, into its fourth location this summer.
As a distinct brand within the Beaverbrooks family, Loupe focuses on providing an exclusive retail experience that emphasises high-end watches and jewellery. The company has articulated its mission to redefine the luxury retail space, aiming to offer “a highly personal and immersive experience that we know is incredibly important to clients purchasing luxury pieces.”
The new Sheffield boutique, established at 2 Barker’s Pool for four decades, joins the ranks of Loupe’s existing showrooms located in Milton Keynes, Croydon, and Preston, all anchored by Rolex.
Anna Blackburn, managing director of The Beaverbrooks Group, remarked on the acquisition, stating it aligns perfectly with the group’s objectives. “This investment marks an exciting milestone, building on over 107 years of passion, experience and expertise as we open our fourth Loupe boutique and continue the legacy that H. L. Brown started in 1861. We look forward to continuing to deliver the best-in-class service the H. L. Brown brand is renowned for whilst staying true to the family values and core purpose of enriching lives that the Beaverbrooks Group has upheld for over a century,” she said.
The Beaverbrooks Group hinted at future initiatives, suggesting the potential addition of new brand partners to the Loupe lineup. “We might even have some new brand partners joining the Loupe family too… Stay tuned for more updates!” the company announced on its LinkedIn page.
Founded in 1919 by siblings Isaac, Harry, and Maurice Adlestone, Beaverbrooks initially opened a single shop in Belfast before moving to St Annes-on-Sea in Lancashire. Over a century later, the business continues to be predominantly family-owned, with Mark Adlestone, the fourth-generation chairman, at the helm. The Adlestone family holds approximately an 80% stake in the enterprise, with the remaining 20% managed by the Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust.
In addition to its own branded stores across the UK, the broader Beaverbrooks Group operates various monobrand boutiques, featuring prestigious names such as TAG Heuer, Omega, Breitling, Tudor, and Longines. Notably, despite its strong heritage, Beaverbrooks was unable to establish a partnership with Rolex prior to its acquisition of Whittles Jewellers in Preston in 2020, which became one of the inaugural Loupe locations after its refurbishment and rebranding in 2024.
