Helen Dimmick, who serves as the director of Ainsworth Jewellers in Blackburn, has been appointed to the Board of the British Allied Trades Federation (BATF) as a representative of the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ).
With an extensive background of over 30 years in various facets of the jewellery sector—including retail, gemmology, education, and consultancy—Dimmick’s inclusion in the board highlights her commitment to advancing excellence in the industry. Her role aims to foster collaboration among the various organisations that represent UK businesses.
Upon her appointment, Dimmick expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I’m pleased to represent the NAJ on the BATF board, helping to ensure the needs of member associations remain at the heart of decision-making while promoting collaboration, shared values and strong standards across the federation.”

As co-director of Ainsworth Jewellers, a family-run business in operation for over 156 years, she plays a pivotal role alongside her husband, Phil Ainsworth, a fifth-generation jeweller.
In addition to her retail responsibilities, Dimmick is dedicated to nurturing emerging talent in the jewellery field. She actively mentors university students, conducts specialised training, and frequently provides expert insights for various media outlets, all while striving to elevate industry standards.
Her contributions have garnered recognition through multiple prestigious accolades, including her status as a freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, her service as a guardian at the Sheffield Assay Office, and her upcoming receipt of the Freedom of the City of London later this year.
