The first-ever Basilia Jewellery & Watch Fair is set to unfold from 8 to 11 April 2027 at Messe Basel, heralding the introduction of a new international trade exhibition catering to the jewellery, watch, and gemstone markets.

Hosted by Informa Markets and MCH Group, the event will take place in Hall 2 and aims to unite manufacturers, suppliers, independent brands, retailers, and buyers globally.

Scheduled strategically within the spring trade fair roster in Switzerland, the organisers assert that Basilia will address an unmet need within the European exhibition sector, while further establishing Basel’s reputation as a key international centre for the jewellery and watch industries.

“From 8 to 11 April 2027, Basel will emerge as the focal point for the global jewellery and watch community,” stated Roman Imgrüth, CEO Exhibitions & Events at MCH Group. He added, “The Basilia fair enhances the existing landscape and creates an inclusive marketplace for the entire sector.”

Dan Ye, vice president of strategic initiatives at Informa Markets for Asia, remarked, “Basilia is not merely another fair; it’s a thoughtfully designed platform for purposeful buyers. The timing in April aligns perfectly with Switzerland’s trade calendar, allowing us to seamlessly integrate into the global jewellery circuit.”

The inaugural fair is anticipated to host over 400 exhibitors themed around “City Under Construction.” The exhibition floor will be designed into vibrant neighbourhoods and sectors, showcasing the wide-ranging aspects of the international jewellery and watch industry.

Celine Lau, director of jewellery fairs at Informa Markets, commented, “We are curating a comprehensive spectrum: aspirational luxury juxtaposed with high jewellery, boutique brands alongside independent watchmakers, and leading suppliers of diamonds, coloured gemstones, and pearls positioned with innovators in jewellery technology.

“This intentional amalgamation caters to independent retailers, buyers from Europe and beyond, as well as decision-makers who value quality, variety, and choice. Early responses from the industry indicate that we have successfully resonated with our audience.”
