Audemars Piguet has unveiled a newly renovated factory complex in Meyrin, which aims to blend modern technology with traditional craftsmanship. The facility, dedicated to the production of watch cases and bracelets, employs around 200 individuals from a central location.

The site previously served as a pharmaceutical facility operated by Uhlmann‑Eyraud during the 1960s. Acquired by Audemars Piguet in 2023, the buildings have undergone three years of extensive renovations.

Spanning nearly 100,000 square feet, the complex features both manufacturing and office spaces, with the capacity to accommodate up to 350 staff members.

While photographs of the facility emphasize areas designated for human interaction, they do not capture the cutting-edge machinery and production lines responsible for creating components and finished products.

According to Audemars Piguet, their operations will revolve around four key pillars: collaboration, flexibility, employee well-being, and streamlined production flows. The factory layout is deliberately structured to reflect the steps involved in case and bracelet production, organized across three levels: machining, finishing, and assembly.

The design incorporates modular spaces, allowing for future integration of advanced machinery, new expertise, or additional teams, while promoting an open-plan environment. The technical framework optimizes workflow by adhering to a logical manufacturing sequence.

CEO Ilaria Resta commented, “This new complex has been designed in keeping with the very essence of our Manufacture: to pay tribute to the site’s heritage while carrying it forward through contemporary technologies. It embodies the values of collaboration and well‑being at the core of our company.”
