Laings, a longstanding name in Glasgow’s high-end jewellery and watch market since 1840, is set to establish a new showroom in its former site within the Argyll Arcade. This development follows the successful launch of its flagship store on Buchanan Street, which was unveiled with a £5 million investment.
The forthcoming space is being branded as a “hub of creation and jewellery craft preservation,” aiming to merge cutting-edge innovations with a strong emphasis on diamonds and jewellery. This initiative is expected to enhance the experience of shoppers in Glasgow, providing greater access to Laings’ renowned craftsmanship.
Serena Gough, Services Director at Laings, shared her reflections on the brand’s commitment over the years: “During my time at Laings, I’ve been fortunate to witness an unwavering dedication to the world of jewellery and watches. It has been a true privilege to help shape that passion into new avenues. This new showroom will stand as a celebration of artistry, bringing a renewed focus on craftsmanship and beautifully British-made jewellery to Glasgow. I know it will be a truly special addition to the city.”
CEO Joe Walsh remarked on the significance of the new showroom location: “The Argyll Arcade was a home for Laings for many years, so it seemed only right to return there for our new venture. This project is a culmination of our heritage, expertise and the innovative ideas that we believe will expand the jewellery landscape within Glasgow.”
While specific details about the showroom’s offerings are still pending, the project underscores Laings’ dedication to merging its historical roots with modern luxury retail experiences, positioning itself as a fresh destination for fine jewellery and watches in Glasgow.
