Full Story

Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery has launched a unique competition titled “Kindness in my world,” inviting children to create designs that will be transformed into hand-engraved pendants.

Running from 9 February to 27 March, the competition encourages young participants to use a provided template along with any artistic medium they choose to craft a sterling silver pendant intended as a gift for someone special. The design can depict a moment of kindness, a cherished memory, or any scenario that highlights how the individual brings joy to their lives. Children are also invited to include a brief note explaining the inspiration behind their artwork.

The competition is free to enter, and submissions will be showcased in the shopfronts of locations in North Hertfordshire, St Albans, Cambridge, and Primrose Hill, as well as featured across the company’s social media platforms. Each participating studio will select one winner, with results set to be revealed a week following the completion of the competition.

Winners will have the opportunity to collaborate with a senior designer to refine their design, which a skilled goldsmith will then engrave onto a sterling silver pendant. The finished pieces will be given to the children on a sterling silver chain, ready to be presented to their chosen recipient.

Founded in 1998 and located in the village of Halls Green, North Hertfordshire, Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery combines a design studio, workshop, showroom, and coffee shop in one venue.

Rebecca Howarth, managing director of Harriet Kelsall, commented on the initiative: “Jewellery has always been about meaning, memory, and connection. With Kindness in My World, we wanted to celebrate kindness through a child’s eyes and show how even the simplest drawing can become something truly extraordinary when it carries love behind it.”
