Full Story
Czapek & Cie has introduced the Faubourg de Cracovie ‘Crossroads’ Victory Green Chronograph, a limited edition timepiece numbered to just 18. This model brings a fresh addition to an existing collection that debuted in 2018 and has since become a staple of the brand.
The new chronograph showcases a striking ‘English green’ dial embellished with intricate guilloché patterns, while maintaining the technical specifications found in its predecessors.
Historically, the deep shade associated with British Racing Green originated during the 1903 Gordon Bennett Cup held in Ireland, making it symbolic of British motorsport. Although this colour is widely recognised, true British Racing Green encompasses a spectrum of deep greens, reminiscent of iconic brands like Aston Martin and Bentley.
In design, the watch retains the 41.5mm 316L stainless steel case, featuring integrated chronograph pushers and a water resistance of up to 5 ATM, catering to both style and functionality for everyday wear. The case proportions and architecture mirror those of earlier iterations, ensuring a sense of continuity and versatility.
The dial’s design is distinguished by guilloché craftsmanship from historic dialmaker Metalem, reflecting the Double Soleil pattern previously noted in the Quai des Bergues models and adapted for the Faubourg de Cracovie line. The engraving is accentuated by a PVD finish, enhancing its aesthetic appeal.
A shift away from the traditional flange introduces a peripheral tachymeter scale, necessitating slight modifications to the sub-dials for the 30-minute and 12-hour counters, which, along with a small seconds display and a semi-instantaneous date function at 6 o’clock, adds to the watch’s functionality.
Inside, the watch is powered by the SXH3 integrated automatic chronograph calibre, developed by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. Operating at 5Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour), this movement provides approximately 65 hours of power reserve and features a vertical clutch, with COSC certification ensuring precision.
The retail price for the Faubourg de Cracovie ‘Crossroads’ Victory Green Chronograph is CHF 32,000. Further details are available at czapek.com.
