Full Story

Mr Jones Watches is launching a competition aimed at young designers aged between 18 and 25, inviting them to conceptualise limited edition timepieces.

The competition is open to entrants globally, and the winner will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Mr Jones team in London to transform their artistic vision into a market-ready watch. The victor will receive a cash prize of £3,000, reflecting the company’s typical design fee, as well as a royalty agreement entitling them to a percentage of the profits from each watch sold.

Crispin Jones, the founder of Mr Jones Watches, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative: “Here at Mr Jones Watches we’re focused on producing beautiful, distinctive watches that tell a story, start a conversation or simply make you smile. I’m really excited to be launching this competition. It’s open to young creatives from all around the world. Even if you never designed a watch before we would love to see your design,” he said.

Participants are encouraged to design watches that convey the time in a unique and imaginative manner. Mr Jones emphasises the importance of a narrative behind each design: “Your design should have a story behind it, a narrative that explains what’s going on and why. It is not enough to create something that solely works on a visual level.”

The company values diversity in artistic expression and is looking for innovative graphical interpretations. “The artwork should be in your own style. We love that our collection celebrates a diversity of pictorial and design styles and we welcome new and unexpected graphical approaches,” they added.

Design submissions must adhere to specific guidelines due to the unique construction of Mr Jones watches. Instead of conventional hour and minute hands, the watches feature two transparent discs that rotate to indicate time, using bespoke artwork that complements the overall design narrative.

To assist entrants, Mr Jones provides a template and detailed instructions available on their website as a downloadable file.

Design entries must be submitted by Friday, 25th September 2026.
