Laings, the luxury jeweller, has achieved the prestigious Great Place to Work Certification, signifying a major development as the company continues its expansion and dedication to employee welfare.

This certification underscores Laings’ enduring commitment to its workforce, with a focus on expertise, craftsmanship, and knowledge integral to its corporate values.

The company promotes a supportive atmosphere where staff are encouraged to enhance their skills, engage in teamwork, and share insights, fostering a culture centered around professionalism and lifelong learning.

Laings asserts that this ethos empowers employees, instilling confidence as they uphold the company’s exceptional standards in service and expertise.

Joe Walsh, CEO of Laings, expressed his enthusiasm about the certification, stating, “We are delighted to become Great Place to Work Certified. The consistent positive feedback from our employees about their experiences with colleagues, leaders, and roles is immensely meaningful.” He further emphasized their forward-looking perspective, viewing this accolade as a foundation to deepen the employee experience, and acknowledged the role of staff input in achieving this recognition.

The certification process is grounded in anonymous feedback collected by Great Place to Work, employing a data-driven For All methodology to evaluate workplace culture. A minimum of 65% of employees must report a positive experience to attain accreditation.

The results highlight not only Laings’ supportive working environment but also the firm’s commitment to training, development, and fostering long-term career opportunities.

Walsh added, “It has been fantastic to see the honest feedback shared by everyone at Laings. Now we have a unique opportunity to really listen to what our teams are looking for, as well as insight into what we do well, helping to continue to shape our culture.” He reiterated that enhancing employee experience and wellbeing is a continuous goal, aiming to ensure that all staff feel valued and acknowledged.

Teamwork and a supportive culture are fundamental to Laings, with employees expressing a strong sense of camaraderie. Cristina Carballo, assistant manager at Laings Edinburgh, noted, “What makes Laings a great place to work is the family feel that runs through the business. There is a strong culture of care, respect and support, where people look out for one another and take pride in being part of the team.”

Benedict Gautrey, managing director of Great Place to Work UK, commended the achievement, stating, “We know that prioritising the employee experience leads to building trust among employees, fostering a remarkable workplace culture, and ultimately achieving exceptional business outcomes.”
