The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) has revealed plans for the 2026 Retail Congress, aimed at helping jewellery retailers enhance their revenue during challenging economic times.
Scheduled for 2 June 2026 at the Drayton Manor Resort in Tamworth, the congress will gather jewellery business leaders and industry specialists for a day dedicated to learning, networking, and sharing insights.
This year’s focal theme, “Growth amid a discretionary spending squeeze,” will investigate strategies for independent jewellery retailers to boost sales and fortify their businesses despite economic pressures and lower consumer spending.
The annual congress is a vital component of the NAJ’s ongoing efforts, particularly through its Independent Business Network, to provide actionable insights, peer support, and inspiration tailored for independent retailers.
Steve Ennis, JBN Facilitator, stated, “Retail Congress is designed to give independent jewellery retailers meaningful insight they can trust and apply. With continued pressure on discretionary spending, this year’s programme is about clarity, confidence and practical growth, cutting through the noise so retailers leave equipped to make stronger decisions and move their businesses forward.”
The programme for 2026 promises a robust selection of knowledgeable speakers who will offer valuable perspectives on economics, retail strategies, and customer experience enhancements. Confirmed speakers include Glynn Jones, Midlands Agent for the Bank of England; former UK Small Business Commissioner Liz Barclay, founder of Business111.com; and Niclas Ekerot, alongside other industry experts.
Goodman Bros will serve as the event’s headline sponsor.
In addition to the formal sessions, the Retail Congress will provide networking opportunities, including a casual dinner for delegates on 1 June, which will precede the main event. Attendees will also receive a complimentary ticket to the adjacent Drayton Manor Theme Park.
Ticket pricing is as follows:
– NAJ Member: £245 + VAT
– Non-member: £295 + VAT
A discount of 20% is available for additional tickets purchased for multiple attendees.
