AstaGuru, a global auction house, is set to enhance its European footprint by establishing a permanent location in London. This move comes as the company prepares to conduct its inaugural UK auction, which will conclude on 27 May and predominantly feature an array of fine watches, showcasing a selection of intricate timepieces from esteemed Swiss manufacturers.

The detailed catalogue of auction lots is anticipated to be unveiled in April, providing potential bidders with a comprehensive overview of the offerings.

Established in Mumbai in 2008, AstaGuru has carved a niche as an innovative auction platform that prioritises digital engagement. It connects collectors with a diverse range of luxury items, including art, watches, and jewellery. Having secured a robust position in the Indian auction sector, AstaGuru is now poised for international expansion, particularly appealing to a younger demographic that thrives in the digital realm.

Manoj Mansukhani, the company’s Director of Marketing, commented on this strategic move, stating, “London has always been at the heart of the global art and luxury market. Our presence here allows us to better serve clients with a transparent and accessible platform.”

In light of this expansion effort, AstaGuru has brought Laryssa Jesse on board as Managing Director for the UK, while Tim Bourne will serve as International Director and Global Head of Watches. Bourne noted, “The watch market is evolving quickly, and our digital platform makes it easier for collectors at all levels to take part in major auctions.”

In conjunction with its auction launch, AstaGuru plans to organise private viewings and educational sessions in London. These initiatives aim to engage both experienced collectors and newcomers to the luxury watch segment, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of high-end timepieces.
