Parmigiani Fleurier has established a distinctive colour palette as part of its design ethos, according to CEO Guido Terreni in a recent interview with WatchPro.
A notable hue in this collection is Verzasca, an earthy green inspired by the lush landscapes of Switzerland’s Verzasca River. This particular colour first made its debut on the GMT Rattrapante model launched last year and is now featured on the strap and subdials of the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph, which boasts a striking silver dial.
The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph embodies a philosophy of understated elegance, aligning with Parmigiani’s vision for sophisticated timepieces. Under the hood, it houses an in-house, high-frequency automatic chronograph movement operating at 5Hz, ensuring both precision and performance.
“The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Silver Verzasca expresses controlled power,” Mr Terreni stated. He added, “Its high frequency, integrated architecture and certified precision reflect uncompromising technical standards, while the design maintains an essential restraint.”
The Verzasca green encapsulates the essence of the clean, transparent waters that meander through granite rock formations, a visual metaphor highlighted through the watch’s design. The juxtaposition of the textured silver dial against the green chronograph counters and small seconds creates a sophisticated aesthetic, complemented by the polished and satin-finished case measuring 42mm in diameter and 12.9mm in thickness.
Moreover, the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph features a satin-finished PF070 movement, which is COSC-certified and offers a robust 65-hour power reserve. The movement’s intricacies can be observed through the exhibition case back, showcasing a skeletonised 18-carat gold oscillating weight.
In addition to its technical prowess, the watch integrates sporty elements, including a rubber strap designed to mimic the appearance of woven fabric, making it an ideal companion for sailing enthusiasts, particularly those with a penchant for Royal Huisman yachts.
Currently, the timepiece is available for purchase at a price of $34,600.
