Full Story

Sortie Watches has unveiled its inaugural collection, the BH1000, a series that marries British design with Swiss craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from the historic RAF Biggin Hill in Kent.

The designation BH1000 pays tribute to the airbase, commemorating over 1,000 sorties launched from this significant location during the Battle of Britain.

The collection features three distinct variations of dials: Flight Blue, Alpha Green, and Stealth Black, with each edition limited to 300 individually numbered pieces.

The Flight Blue model showcases a striking blue dial complemented by red accents, all housed within a stainless steel case and bracelet. In contrast, the Alpha Green model offers an earthy green dial paired with mustard highlights, retaining the same steel case design. The Stealth Black variant presents a sleek black dial with blue accents, encased in a matching DLC-coated case and bracelet.

Every timepiece is crafted in a 40mm stainless steel case, measuring 47.8mm from lug to lug and 12mm in height. The watches are equipped with the Swiss Made SW290-1 Elaboré Grade automatic movement, which boasts a power reserve of 41 hours and a unique sub-dial arrangement.

Legibility is enhanced by the use of Super-LumiNova, while two circular indices positioned above and below the small seconds counter subtly allude to the roundels featured in the RAF emblem.

Fitted with a 20mm bracelet that includes a quick-release mechanism and an on-the-fly micro-adjustment clasp, these watches allow for effortless sizing adjustments. The price for each model is set at £1,740, equivalent to $2,005.
