Full Story

Nomadic Watches, a Belfast-based brand, has unveiled its latest collection in celebration of St Patrick’s Day, the Black Shamrock series. This new release includes the Black Shamrock Céad 126 and an upgraded version of the Black Shamrock Maraí 401.

Each model is crafted in a limited run of just 50 units, building on the success of previous Black Shamrock editions that sold out almost immediately online. The release of these exclusive watches is scheduled throughout March, with one model becoming available each day at 7pm GMT via the brand’s website. In total, 31 pieces will be offered online, alongside 19 watches that will be exclusively available at Nomadic Watches’ flagship store in Belfast.

The Black Shamrock editions feature distinctive design elements inspired by Irish culture and the legends associated with St Patrick, particularly the symbolism of the shamrock, which is prominently displayed on both timepieces.

The Black Shamrock Céad 126, priced at £2,795, showcases a black dial accented with green subdials and a shamrock-shaped rotor. Notably, the day display is rendered in Irish, and the design highlights the 17th day of the month with a shamrock symbol.

Equipped with a Sellita SW500 manual-wind chronograph movement that offers a power reserve of 58 hours, this model is presented in a 40mm stainless steel case and is complemented by a custom leather rally-style strap.

On the other hand, the updated Black Shamrock Maraí 401, retailing at £1,195, revises the original dive watch design by introducing a black dial, a green bezel, and a shamrock rotor.

This iteration is available in both the classic 40mm size and a newly introduced 36mm version. It includes refinements such as redesigned font for the bezel, enhanced hands, and a newly positioned date window located at the 6 o’clock mark, where again, the 17th day is adorned with a shamrock.

Consistent with its predecessor, the Maraí 401 maintains a water resistance of up to 200 metres and is powered by the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement. It comes fitted with a metal bracelet, ensuring both functionality and style.
