Victoria Waugh, a specialist in sustainability, has introduced Credere, a consultancy dedicated to promoting responsible practices within the jewellery industry.
The newly established firm is designed to assist jewellery brands in navigating the increasing expectations surrounding ethics, transparency, and environmental considerations. Waugh explained that Credere offers practical and commercially viable advice, acting as an outsourced sustainability resource for companies that require expert guidance without the financial commitment of hiring a full-time sustainability officer.
Credere’s consultancy services cover six key domains: purpose and strategy, responsible sourcing, carbon management, due diligence, certification, and education and training. Waugh highlighted her commitment to supporting small enterprises, with tailored services for designer-makers and independent jewellery brands.
Prior to launching Credere, Waugh led consultancy V&V but chose to concentrate solely on the jewellery sector. Her extensive experience includes working across various facets of supply chains, certification organisations, and jewellery companies, helping numerous businesses tackle intricate sustainability issues over the past ten years.
Waugh remarked, “Jewellery businesses are under growing pressure to demonstrate credible, transparent action. Credere exists to cut through complexity and give brands the clarity, tools and support they need to make meaningful progress, without losing sight of commercial reality. We believe every business – whatever its size – should have access to the support needed to grow sustainably.”
