From 20 to 23 February, Inhorgenta Munich attracted an international audience of retailers, buyers, brands, and manufacturers for four days of networking and exploration.
This year’s event showcased 900 exhibitors representing 1,200 brands from 35 nations, with international participation accounting for 55%. A significant turnout of over 25,000 trade visitors from 94 countries highlighted the event’s escalating importance within the global market.
Stefan Rummel, CEO of Messe München, remarked, “Inhorgenta has gained significant visibility and influence in recent years. We are continuously developing it, in terms of content, design and international reach. This year, we have established a guiding theme that will shape the years ahead: Craftsmanship, a tribute to the industry’s artisanal excellence and passion.”
For the first time, the show centred around a theme of Craftsmanship, celebrating the skill, dedication, and quality inherent in the industry. Attendees were given the opportunity to witness live demonstrations of gemstone setting, engraving, and watch assembly.
Stefanie Mändlein, the exhibition director, stated, “With its focus on Craftsmanship, Inhorgenta is opening a new path, one of recognition and appreciation for artisanal work.”
While German attendance saw a slight dip, international visitor numbers rose. The largest groups of attendees hailing from Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, the UK, the Czech Republic, and Belgium were noted. Remarkably, visitor growth was particularly pronounced among those from Sri Lanka, Sweden, Ukraine, and the United States.
The event achieved high customer satisfaction, scoring 80 points overall, with attendees praising its organisation, international appeal, and atmosphere. In economic terms, the industry demonstrated a robust recovery; the German Retail Association of Jewelers reported a 2.1% increase in specialist retail turnover for 2025 alongside a 13.3% rise in jewellery exports, marking the fourth consecutive year of growth.
Demand has remained particularly strong in the premium segment, with gold jewellery, bespoke pieces, and prestigious watch brands seeing significant interest. Traditional retailers maintain a commanding position within the market, capturing 73% of the jewellery sector.
This year, the Inhorgenta Award set a new benchmark, attracting 148 submissions from 19 countries. The next Inhorgenta Munich will be held from 19 to 22 February.
