Swedish watch manufacturer GoS has announced a shift in its pricing strategy, moving from US dollars to euros as its primary currency. This transition is prompted by a notable depreciation of the dollar, which is expected to take effect in 2025.

Patrik Sjögren, the owner of GoS, indicated that this adjustment will likely result in a price hike of approximately 17%. In a message conveyed to clients, Mr. Sjögren explained, “For more than 15 years, GoS has set its prices in US dollars, originally because most of our clients were outside Europe and Sweden is not part of the Eurozone.”

He further elaborated on the reasoning behind this decision: “Over the past year, however, the US dollar has weakened significantly while our production costs remain primarily Europe-based. To ensure long-term stability, GoS will be switching its base currency from the US dollar to the euro. We will set our new euro prices to reflect the USD price levels from early January 2025, when the two currencies were near parity.”

From January 17, 2026, orders will be billed in euros, although clients desiring to pay in US dollars can do so at the current exchange rate.

GoS Watches originated from a collaboration between master bladesmith Johan Gustafsson and master watchmaker Patrik Sjögren, who joined forces in 2007 due to their mutual admiration for their crafts and traditional Scandinavian artistry.

The company specializes in crafting timepieces with rolled Damascus steel, resulting in unique patterns for each watch. The rich history and natural beauty of Scandinavia serve as vital sources of inspiration for GoS’s designs.

Noteworthy collections include the Nordic Seasons series, reflecting the distinct colours of each season, and the Aurora watch, which draws inspiration from the ethereal Northern Lights.
