Kering, the French luxury conglomerate, has announced its intention to acquire a minority interest in the Raselli Franco Group, a notable independent manufacturer of luxury jewellery in Europe. This initial deal involves a purchase of a 20% stake in the Italian family business for €115 million (£100.5 million), with the transaction expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approvals and other standard conditions.
Established in 1969, the Raselli Franco Group has built a reputation for its expertise in creating both high and fine jewellery, catering to major luxury brands. The company is known for its comprehensive manufacturing capabilities, handling every stage from raw material sourcing to design and quality assurance.
Kering anticipates that Raselli Franco’s advanced skills in casting and precision machining will enhance its oversight of the jewellery production chain. The firm’s brands, including Boucheron, Pomellato, Dodo, and Qeelin, have generated significant and consistent revenue in recent years, and this acquisition is seen as pivotal for their sustained growth and market resilience.
The agreement outlines a progressive increase in Kering’s ownership, aiming for full acquisition of Raselli Franco Group by 2032. In the previous year, Kering reported revenues of €17.2 billion (£15.04 billion) and has a workforce of approximately 47,000 employees globally.
Luca de Meo, CEO of Kering, highlighted the strategic significance of this acquisition, emphasizing the company’s ambitions within the jewellery sector. “This acquisition marks a strategic milestone for Kering, embodying our ambition in jewellery. Raselli Franco Group brings exceptional savoir-faire and innovation, anchored in a rich heritage and a strong commitment to sustainability,” he stated.
Andrea Raselli, the CEO of Raselli Franco Group, noted the alignment of values between the two companies. “As a family-owned company, we share the same values of excellence, innovation and agility, as well as the same ambition to contribute to the future of jewellery,” he remarked.
