Full Story
Ball Watch Company has launched a new series of watches in collaboration with the beloved Peanuts franchise, featuring Snoopy in his role as the Flying Ace. This second collection includes the Engineer III Snoopy Flying Ace models, available in stainless steel sizes of 36mm, 40mm, and 43mm, as well as a 43mm bronze variant.
Each model is limited to just 250 pieces, with prices commencing at £2,510 in the UK. The design showcases Snoopy as a World War I pilot in his renowned Sopwith Camel, prominently displayed on a subsidiary seconds dial positioned at 6 o’clock. His loyal companion, Woodstock, is depicted sitting on the seconds hand, adding a whimsical touch to the otherwise robust engineering hallmark of Ball watches.
Powering all models in this series is the automatic RR1105 movement, which offers an impressive power reserve of 42 hours. In line with Ball’s reputation for high functionality, the timepieces feature self-illuminating micro gas tubes on the hands and hour markers to enhance legibility at night. The design incorporates white Super-LumiNova to ensure that Snoopy remains visible in low-light conditions.
The collection maintains the practical capabilities typical of the Engineer III range, boasting resistance to shocks up to 5,000Gs, anti-magnetic protection rated at 4,800 A/m, and water resistance to 100 metres. Additionally, the watches include sapphire crystal casebacks, which allow wearers to view the automatic movements and another charming image of Snoopy dressed as the Flying Ace.
This partnership brings together two iconic American brands, both with rich histories. Ball Watch Company, founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1891 by Webb C. Ball, set new standards for railroad timekeeping in response to serious accidents linked to faulty watches. Meanwhile, Peanuts debuted in 1950, created by Charles M. Schulz, quickly becoming one of the most recognisable cultural phenomena globally.
The limited edition collection is currently available for pre-order, with expectations that the watches will hit the market in January or February 2027, according to Ball’s official website.
