Inhorgenta is introducing a new segment dedicated to vintage, antique, and pre-owned jewellery and watches at its upcoming event from 19 to 22 February 2027, located in the adjoining hall B0. This initiative reflects a rising interest in heritage and craftsmanship among consumers, while still maintaining Inhorgenta’s focus as a B2B trade fair tailored to professionals in the industry.
The Inhorgenta Vintage area aims to cater specifically to collectors and enthusiasts seeking unique pieces. “Vintage and antique jewellery as well as pre-owned jewellery and watches stand for history, craftsmanship and sustainability, resonating with the spirit of the times,” stated exhibition director Stefanie Mändlein. She emphasised the importance of creating a dedicated venue for this niche market, where attendees can discover exceptional items as well as have their own pieces appraised.
Mändlein highlighted the assembly of a curated platform that will enable notable dealers, collectors, and industry professionals to connect and explore new business opportunities. Noteworthy participants for this inaugural event already include well-regarded names such as Eppli, Juwelier Der Goldschmidt, and Roemer Jewels from Germany, alongside Italian firms like Art Deco Bijoux and Distribuzione Preziosi d’Asta. Additionally, Huijbrechts from the Netherlands will also be involved.
A distinctive aspect of Inhorgenta Vintage will be the availability of expert services on-site, including jewellery valuations by Heide Rezepa-Zabel, an art historian and gemmologist renowned for her role on the show “Bares für Rares.” Rezepa-Zabel remarked, “Vintage jewellery combines history, design and craftsmanship with a remarkable relevance today.” She underscored the significance of provenance and condition when assessing historical jewellery’s quality and value. “I am delighted that, with the new pavilion, Inhorgenta is giving vintage jewellery its own space and thereby bringing greater focus to this fascinating market segment,” she added.
Additional expertise will be provided by other professionals, such as Tom Stephan, who heads the German Gemmological Association training centre, and Dr. Claudio Milisenda from the German Foundation for Gemstone Research. Josef M. Stadl, president of the German Society for Chronometry, will also conduct authenticity evaluations, alongside Stefan Friesenegger, a consultant and luxury watch expert.
The event will coincide with the main B2B trade show at Messe München, offering a unique opportunity for enthusiasts and professionals alike to delve into the world of vintage jewellery and watches.
