Full Story
An upcoming event titled Women in Watches Miami is set for November 6, aiming to highlight the roles and representation of women within the watch industry. This gathering follows previous Women in Watches events held in London and New York earlier in the year, and will be conducted in conjunction with the Watch Summit at TIMELUXE in Miami.
The Miami event will feature two engaging panels focused on critical issues such as career opportunities for women in watchmaking and the evolving preferences of female watch consumers. The first panel will delve into “Women in Watchmaking: Careers in the Watch Industry,” examining existing career paths available to women and discussing how the industry might develop clearer routes for the next generation.
Attendees can expect discussions around the various career stages, from hands-on workshop positions to senior roles in areas such as retail, marketing, and design. The panel will also address ongoing issues related to representation, highlighting persistent barriers, and strategies that could attract, support, and retain future female talent in the sector.
The second panel, “Designing for Her: What Women Want From Watches Now,” will focus on changing consumer preferences and their impact on watch design and marketing strategies. This conversation will cover a range of topics, including the trend towards smaller watch sizes, jewellery-inspired designs, and the increasing popularity of bold colours and complications, as well as traditionally masculine styles being adopted by female collectors. It will also explore the necessity of distinct women’s collections, questioning whether the future lies in broader choices for female consumers.
The event will feature a range of panellists yet to be announced, along with WOLF as the headline sponsor and collaboration with official partners Madaluxe, Timex Group, and Rado.
Men are invited to participate, fostering a collaborative environment for learning and dialogue throughout the industry.
