Full Story

Wylde Jewellers, an independent retail establishment, has initiated a year-long celebration to commemorate the 40th anniversary of its founder, Nicholas Wylde, opening his first store in Bath.

The campaign, aptly titled “Never Ending,” launches this weekend and will continue until 12 September 2027, celebrating the establishment’s origins from its inception in 1987. This initiative aims to showcase the artisanship, individuals, and unique jewellery pieces that define the brand while also contemplating future directions for the business.

Nicholas Wylde shared that the concept of the campaign was influenced by the enduring nature of jewellery, which can remain a cherished family heirloom long after its initial purchase. He noted that items crafted years ago frequently return for restoration, remodeling, or redesign, much to the delight of newer generations.

Originally rooted in Bath, the business has now expanded, boasting additional stores and workshops in Clifton, Bristol, employing a diverse team of designers, goldsmiths, setters, and various jewellery specialists to sustain its operations.

Wylde Jewellers has embraced modern technologies and innovative techniques while maintaining a strong commitment to traditional craftsmanship and personalised customer service. Notably, the firm has developed the patented Wylde Flower Diamond, a unique offering designed by Nicholas Wylde himself, available exclusively through the company.

The year-long anniversary festivities are structured around three key themes: past, present, and possibility. The ‘past’ aspect will revisit archival designs and significant milestones from the company’s history, while ‘present’ will spotlight bespoke commissions, remodelling efforts, and workshop productivity. Meanwhile, ‘possibility’ will direct attention toward future ventures, including new design concepts, potential heirlooms, and engaging the next generation of clientele.

Nicholas Wylde remarked: “Over the last forty years, I’ve had the privilege of creating jewellery for some of the most important moments in people’s lives. I’ve seen pieces I made decades ago return to our workshops, met children and grandchildren of clients I first knew many years before and watched jewellery become part of families. For me, 40 years isn’t simply about the passing of time. It represents thousands of stories intertwined with our own. And there are still so many more to tell.”
