A new media initiative is set to launch at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, known as The Five. This collaboration seeks to bring together five prominent figures in the watch industry to provide a fresh perspective on horology coverage.
The Five is designed to disrupt conventional reporting associated with industry events. It integrates diverse viewpoints from editorial, retail, collecting, and digital realms, offering a platform for more nuanced storytelling. Audiences can expect a richer array of insights and content shared through various channels, including Instagram and YouTube.
The team comprises Roman Sharf, noted for his in-depth market knowledge; Oscar Strong from Official Watches, who provides a retailer’s perspective; Andrea Casalegno, who speaks for the emerging Gen Z and millennial collectors; Ella Kirby, the digital editor of WatchPro, contributing a female perspective; and seasoned collector Lex Borrero, who combines lifestyle and collecting insights.
During the event, The Five plans to attend over 30 brand briefings, generating upwards of 1,000 pieces of content. This coverage will span technical analyses, interviews with industry leaders, market evaluations, and insights geared towards collectors, facilitating a comprehensive view of the watch sector.
This initiative aims to break free from the often monotonous, singular narratives typical at major trade shows. By harnessing a variety of perspectives, The Five strives to portray the diverse spectrum of today’s watch community, catering to both established enthusiasts and newer buyers.
A notable feature of The Five will be a special event, The Five Party and Panel, scheduled for April 16 at Rooftop 42 on Rue du Rhône. This exclusive gathering will include a live panel session, allowing attendees to interact with the speakers in a dynamic environment.
Limited spaces are available for the event, with registration currently open through The Five’s official website.
With a combined audience reach exceeding two million daily impressions, The Five aims to establish itself as a pioneering media collaboration at Watches and Wonders 2026. Keep an eye on developments as the event approaches.
