Chronopolis has disclosed further information regarding the format and collaborative partnerships for its inaugural event, set to take place in Geneva from 14 to 18 April.
In contrast to the established watch fairs occurring in other parts of the city, this new event will be held at Les Halles de l’Île, providing a unique and immersive experience. The venue’s open, industrial design is intended to foster a creative atmosphere that showcases the innovative spirit of the 20 participating brands. This approach is cultivated under the direction of APRESDEMAIN, a creative agency with a focus on horology and the force behind the acclaimed magazine Heist-Out, promising an event that resonates with an ‘it-crowd’ vibe.
A significant development announced is the partnership with Chrono24, which has been designated as the global partner for the fair. Organisers believe this collaboration underscores a mutual dedication to enhancing openness and accessibility in the watch collecting community.
Additionally, WatchPro has been named as an official media partner, and will offer support to the showcased brands.
The event will feature a structured daily agenda designed to harmonise professional interactions with a casual ambiance. Each morning from 8 to 10 am will be dedicated to media and retailers, providing an exclusive period for journalists and buyers to engage with brands and explore new releases in a more tranquil setting ahead of the event’s full public opening.
To foster networking and informal engagement, daily happy hours will take place from 5 to 7 pm, encouraging meaningful conversations beyond the exhibition booths, thereby enhancing the sense of community among attendees.
The physical layout of the fair has been conceived by up-and-coming designer Tom Ducarouge, who has previously worked with various prominent fashion and sportswear labels. His vision for Chronopolis is described as a “city within a city,” utilising custom booth designs and innovative materials to create a unified environment while enabling each brand to maintain its distinct identity.
A notable highlight during the event will be the Chronopolis Party on 16 April. This gathering, which follows the happy hour, will welcome the public and bring together brands, collectors, and key industry figures for an evening of celebration.
