Beda’a has unveiled a special edition watch, the Eclipse Qatar Limited Edition, in celebration of Qatar National Day on 18 December.
This exclusive timepiece, with only 50 units available, pays homage to the brand’s origins in Doha while responding to prior demand for new iterations of the Eclipse series. The original model had garnered attention at the 2025 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), where it was praised for its creativity, innovative design, and reasonable pricing.
The new edition features rich maroon accents inspired by the colours of the Qatari flag, replacing the initial blue details. This deep hue is also reflected in the rotor, which can be viewed through the sapphire case back. Additionally, the watch face showcases Eastern-Arabic numerals for the hours, enhancing its regional character through the use of Arabic calligraphy in place of the traditional Beda’a logo.
In terms of design, the Eclipse Qatar Limited Edition embodies a minimalist aesthetic while drawing inspiration from the moon’s phases. The 37mm stainless steel case houses a ‘celestial shield’ that appears to float beneath the sapphire crystal, allowing for a unique display that includes a sweeping hour aperture, a floating minutes indicator, and a subtle 10-second counter. This layered structure creates an intriguing visual effect, with changes in light contributing to the depth of the dial.
At its core is the automatic Sellita SW300 movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a power reserve of 56 hours. The watch has a slim profile with a thickness of just 8.1mm, featuring carefully crafted lugs that are secured with invisible screws, ensuring comfort when worn.
