The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) of India has announced it will organise the inaugural Saudi Arabia Jewellery Exposition (SAJEX 2025) from 11th to 13th September 2025 at the Jeddah Superdome. This event is endorsed by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry of India, the Indian Consulate in Jeddah, and the Embassy in Riyadh, and it is powered by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) alongside various local partners including Saudi Invest and the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce.

Promoted as “The World Gem & Jewellery Fair,” SAJEX 2025 will feature over 200 exhibitors with around 250 booths. Participants will include representatives from India, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Hong Kong, and Lebanon, and the event anticipates attendance by more than 2,000 trade buyers. The exhibition will showcase a diverse range of jewellery types, from diamonds and coloured gemstones to gold, platinum, and lab-grown diamonds, as well as offerings aimed at both bridal and gifting markets. Knowledge sessions, networking opportunities, and design showcases will also be part of the programme to encourage industry collaboration.

A key feature of the exposition will be the World Jewellery Investment Forum, set to take place on the first day, where government officials, leading brands, and investors will gather to discuss investment prospects within the jewellery sector. This forum aims to highlight Saudi Arabia’s growing significance as a trading and investment centre in the region.

Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, the Consul General of India in Jeddah, remarked on the significance of SAJEX 2025, stating it exemplifies the deepening relationship between India and Saudi Arabia. He noted, “This event creates a unique platform for industry players to connect, collaborate, and grow together,” emphasizing the initiative’s role in fostering economic ties and innovation within the jewellery field.

Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of GJEPC, pointed out the rapid expansion of the jewellery market in Saudi Arabia, predicting its value will soar from USD 4.56 billion in 2024 to USD 8.34 billion by 2030. He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s position as the Gulf’s largest economy, asserting that SAJEX is a crucial step in enhancing India-Saudi trade relations and utilising the vast potential within the regional jewellery industry.

Saudi Arabia’s increasing demand for jewellery, especially in the 18K and 21K gold segments, positions it as an essential market for Indian exporters. With India boasting USD 28.7 billion in gems and jewellery exports for the fiscal year 2024-25, the GJEPC anticipates that SAJEX will serve as a vital B2B platform to bolster bilateral trade and elevate Indian craftsmanship within the Kingdom’s burgeoning luxury market.

The enthusiastic response to preliminary SAJEX events held in July 2025 in Jeddah and Riyadh, which attracted over 280 key stakeholders from the Saudi jewellery sector, foreshadows a successful exposition. This initiative aims to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by strengthening economic collaboration with India and expanding its footprint in the global jewellery arena.
