Fitzgerald Jewellers is marking its 25th anniversary with the launch of the XXV collection, inspired by Canterbury’s Roman heritage. The handcrafted pieces, showcasing traditional goldsmithing methods and sustainable materials, will be unveiled at a two-day event on 2–3 October. The collection features modern reinterpretations of ancient designs, including motifs such as serpents and intaglios, created by the skilled team at Fitzgerald. Richemont faces mixed fortunes as jewellery thrives and watchmakers struggle

Richemont’s latest annual meeting revealed a significant surge in profits driven predominantly by its jewellery segment, with sales soaring by 14% to €16.5 billion. In stark contrast, the watch division struggled, reporting only a marginal sales increase of 1% amid concerns over market sustainability. The Americas led the growth race, with a remarkable 17% sales rise, while other regions trailed behind. Chairman Johann Rupert emphasized the company’s shift towards direct sales and the strategic divestment of underperforming brands like Baume & Mercier. Looking ahead, Richemont’s focus on profitability in the watch sector will be crucial as it navigates a complex market landscape.
